Who said beetroot bread is supposed to be red? My beetroot bread turned out as brown color :P. It looks just like wholemeal bread. Utilizing the breadmaker machine again, I made another loaf of bread with beetroot juice. Oh ya, the measuring spoon at the back was a gift from Anncoo Journal, Thanks Anncoo!

Neato Mosquito! You guys make the coolest stuff. I wish I could have a piece of this with some butter and hot tea;) Yum!
ReplyDeleteBeetroot won't turn red after being baked ler. Remember Gert's special chiffon? The prickly pear has the same type of pigment as beetroot, which is betalain. It turns peachy and orangy instead of remaining pink or red.
ReplyDeleteMore experiments coming up, I guess. :p
Prefect looking beetroot bread..
ReplyDeleteWOoo...pretty picture with my measuring spoons in it;DD
ReplyDeleteYour Beetroot bread looks so good!
hehe, i thought this would be red too when i read the title! this would taste somewhat sweet wouldnt it?
ReplyDeleteI don't quite enjoy eating beetroot on its own. I guess having it in my bread is something I can try.
ReplyDeleteStrange that the color is not beetroot red after baking :O
ReplyDeletered or not, it sure looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteHmm... although beetroot has very strong colour but it's colour will not remain when baked, hey....? Nice looking bread. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that it won't be red after baking!
ReplyDeleteBased on what Wendy has said here, I think hor the color of the beets shows up best only in handmade noodle gua?
ReplyDeleteYa, beets make great addition to bread! In fact, I did something similar by adding excess Italian parsley to my bread by first "pureeing" it with some water. Here's my bread from last Sunday, which basically uses up whatever leftovers I had. I LOVE making bread!

The last beet bread I made was DEFINITELY pink but this looks super delicious no matter the color!
ReplyDeleteLooks soft and yummy.
ReplyDeleteHealthy healthy!! =)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good recipe ;)
Wow, what a different flavor of bread...I am sure that must delicious with the sweetness of the beetroot. Will have to give this a try :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry that it doesn't turned out as expected. No worries, can always try with something else. Red dragonfruit is a nice choice! However, the bread texture looks great. Thanks for sharing and hope you're having a terrific time.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Kristy
