Yin tonic is one of the nourishing soup. Besides clearing our body heat, it is also effects in nourishing one’s liver, and moisten the lungs to arrest cough. It is most suitable taken in the hot weather. A couple of weeks ago, I bought the ready packed herbs from Sg Ara’s wet market, at only RM3.20.
Methods of making the soup:
Wash and drain the herbs. Add into a slow cooker pot. Pour boiling water into the slow cooker (enough water for one big bowl of soups). Cover pot, switch on electricity and turn the dial to High. Let it simmer for 1 hour before the port ribs or chicken drumsticks (skin removed) are added. Simmer under High for another 1 hour and turn the dial to Auto. Let it simmer for another 2 hours. Add salt to taste before dish out.
