Home Made White Bread

New year, new resolutions. The first thing I learnt in 2011 is bread making. With the newly bought Tesco bread maker BM07, I can now have fresh home made bread for breakfast. So here, I'm sharing with you the first bread loaf that I made this afternoon. It was a successful trial with the recipe provided in the user's guide. I'm so impress with its soft, fluffy and little bit of springy texture. It's quite similar to the "Bengali" bread that I used to have when I was a kid.

Wishing all my fellow friends a very Happy New Year! I hope 2011 is a good start for everyone here!

White Bread (Use Basic Programme of Tesco Bread Maker BM07)
makes a 700gm loaf

Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups of room temp water
1 tbsp of sunflower oil
1 tsp of salt
2 tbsp of sugar
3 1/3 cups of bread flour/high Protein flour/high gluten flour
2 tsp dried yeast

Steps:
1. Add water follow by oil.
2. Add flour, salt and sugar.
3. Tap the pan lightly to settle the flour.
4. Add the yeast in small heap in the center of the pan.
5. Lock the pan in the bread maker. Set the program to "Basic" follow by loaf size and select the crust color.
6. The bread maker will complete the task in 3 hours.

Oh Tesco has their own breadmaker oredi? Last time I could only see Kenwood around, besides the one from Amway.
I don't eat that much of bread but I might get one, if my kids ever become bread junks. My younger one seems to be gearing that way.

Great blog. Just found it by searching for fried macaroni. Your recipe looks great. This bread is nice but by the way you can cook from looking at your blog I betcha you could hands down do homemade bread with a starter in the oven! I have that exact bread machine and it is nothing compared to the taste from the oven. I don't know why? Anyway, just saying you could so do the other! Nice to meet you! Hope you can come visit sometime! Now a follower!

Jessica, hi, nice to see you! Thanks for dropping by.
I have really tight schedule until the next couple of months, so I don't able to bake in oven until then. Meantime, I will just rely on the bread maker.

Priya, thanks and Happy New Year to you and your family!

noobcook, Happy New Year to you too! It's pretty easy, just pour all the ingredient to the bread pan and the machine will do the rest for you, hehe...

Hi, I just bought the same bread maker and successfully made it based on your detailed instructions! Thanks! Have you try to make "JAM" or "CAKE" as in the user guide page 5? I tried to follow the instructions but it is too brief. Can you share you success experiences if you have tried it? thanks! :)

KS, so far I have not try to make cake or jam using this bread maker. Still in progress to learn up bread making. :)

Hi,I do have the beadmaker as yours. I follow your instruction and made the bread for 3 times. But the output is not pretty as yours. The texture of my bread is just like "huat kuey". Why is it like that? What abt yours? Is the texture of your bread just like the bread we eat?

Shirleen, I made this bread for only once. It raised pretty well. Stay soft till the next day, just it's not as white as those selling outside.
Take note when you add the yeast. Make sure the yeast does not touch with salt. Otherwise, the yeast is killed. Try other brand of yeast. It could be due to the yeast quality is not good.

Hi,

If you still have the user's guide, would you please scan the recipes section for me? It's about 4 pages - if it's not too much to ask.

Thanks.
