Air-Fried Wanton

For my 3rd experiment of cooking fresh food with air-fryer, I made an attempt to fry wanton. This is not a satisfying result that I'm looking for. The wonton skin is not as crispy as the deep-fried version. It's little bit hard but turns soft very fast. The filling also turned dry after the air-frying.
I'll figure out the correct method of making crispy wanton in air-fryer. Stay tuned!

Actually I thinking to buy one unit too as I make a lot of deep fry foods, I will wait more experiments from you and then only decide later. Thanks for sharing.

The only way to air-fry your wonton crispy is to apply oil all over the wonton. It will still be less oily than deep-fry and use less oil anyway.

Hi Little Inbox, I have been eyeing on this machine for 1 month... still comtemplating because of the price. A small suggestion for the wanton to be crispier longer, just brush a thin layer of grapeseed oil on both side and place it in the fryer. This method still reduces fats a lot, and u get a better wanton results. Cheers.

May be you have too much Wanton in the air fryer. I try to fry cracker in it and it is good. But I get lazy and put a lot into the airfryer and the result is no good, my crackers are no longer crispy. Try put less in it and I should do the job

Jack, not really. I just had a layer of wanton. Don't even stack it up. I baked for 2 batches.

Many thanks for all your air fryer recipes.
My daughter gave me a unit and I am still trying it out. Your recipes helped a lot.
The pan is easy to wash but I have problems cleaning the food stuck on the sieve-like mesh. Any suggestions?

Made lovely pan fried salmon with the frier after marination. Well browned and yummy. A must buy

Hi Pangolin88, one nice promoter at Robinsons taught me to place a piece of aluminium foil on the basket leaving a gap at the side for airflow, then place food (esp those coated with flour) over the foil and airfry. This will solve your problem of hard to wash basket.

Air fried? That doesn't sound too bad. It bet it's better than deep frying in oil. It looks the same as a fried one. Please do tell us how you did the air frying! It must be healthier than deep frying in oil to do this.
